A remote, unpaved mountain pass that crests the ridgeline of Desatoya Peak just shy of the Lander/Churchill County lines. Basque Summit was the only viable route over the Desatoya Range on the Overland Mail Route in between Smith Creek Station and the Edwards Creek Valley.
Today, the route can still followed in a four-wheel-drive vehicle following the course of Edwards Creek.
