Highest Point: Pahute Peak (8,566')

Named for Black Rock Point at the southern end of the range. The Black Rock Range lies in northwestern Nevada dividing the Black Rock Desert into eastern and western arms. The majority of the range falls within the Black Rock Desert-High Rock Canyon Emigrant Trails National Conservation Area (NCA), in addition to two separate federally designated wilderness areas, also a part of the Black Rock Range -- the Pahute Peak Wilderness and the North Black Rock Range Wilderness.
